About Raquel
Welcome to my website! My name is Raquel Scates, and I am here to share my story with you. As a young military widowed mom, I have faced unimaginable challenges and experienced profound loss. However, through my journey of healing and self-discovery, I have found the strength to overcome adversity and build a life filled with happiness and purpose.
In 2007, my world was shattered when I lost my beloved husband during his third tour in Iraq with the US Army. At just 32 years old, I suddenly found myself a widow, left to raise our two daughters, aged 9 and 7 months, on my own. The weight of grief, severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, agoraphobia, and later, a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, felt overwhelming. I felt alone, exhausted, and desperate for a way out.
But then, a glimmer of hope entered my life. A friend introduced me to tools and resources that would save my life and set me on a path of self-healing and self-discovery. I began to learn how to navigate my emotions, embrace my pain, and find the courage to heal. It was a journey filled with ups and downs, but through it all, I discovered an inner strength and resilience I didn’t know I had.
Today, I stand before you as a testament to the power of perseverance and the human spirit. Over the past 16 years, I have triumphed over immense challenges. I have learned to manage my mental health, find balance in my life, and prioritize self-care. Most importantly, I have rediscovered my joy and passion for living.
Through this website, I aim to inspire and empower other women who may be going through similar struggles. I want to be a source of support and guidance, offering practical tools and strategies for self-healing and personal growth. I believe that every woman deserves to live a life filled with purpose, happiness, and fulfillment, regardless of the obstacles she may face.
Join me on this journey as we explore topics such as grief, mental health, self-care, and personal development. Together, we can discover the power within us to overcome any challenge and create a life that is vibrant, meaningful, and full of joy.
Thank you for being here, and I look forward to sharing this transformative journey with you.
